Product Overview
VersaWrap Tendon Protector (VersaWrap) is intended to manage and protect tendon injuries where there is no significant loss of tendon tissue. VersaWrap was designed to separate healing tendon from surrounding tissues to protect tendon gliding and tendon-to-tendon healing. VersaWrap can be placed on, over, or around flexor tendon, Achilles, biceps, quadriceps, iliopsoas, or other tendon following primary tendon repair, tenolysis, or other tendon procedures. VersaWrap remains in place until healing is complete and then is bioresorbed. VersaWrap is designed to handle the demands of soft tissue protection.
VersaWrap is cleared for use in procedures where there is no significant loss of tendon tissue. Examples of such procedures include:
• suture of tendon or tendon sheath
• tenodesis
• advancement / lengthening of tendon
• reattachment of tendon
• tenolysis
• repair of tendon in hand, wrist, forearm
• tenolysis, flexor or extensor tendon, forearm and/or wrist; leg and/or ankle
• tenodesis at wrist, flexors or extensors of fingers
other procedures of the hand or extremities where there is potential for tendon entanglement during healing
VERSAWRAP TENDON PROTECTOR PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
VersaWrap Tendon Protector (VersaWrap) includes a bioresorbable hydrogel sheet and a wetting solution. The sheet is transparent, flexible, ultrathin, non-sided, and can be cut to the desired size. The sheet can be implanted wet or dry and does not stick to tissues, allowing for easy positioning on or around a tendon repair. Once positioned, the solution is added to the sheet surface, relaxing the sheet onto underlying tissues and causing conformability and tissue adherence. This adherence precludes the need for sutures or tissue glue.
VersaWrap TP is made of polysaccharides alginate and hyaluronic acid, and contains no animal derived components.
